MUSICAL THEATRE

“Particularly noteworthy is Erika Heynatz as the arrogant, dim-witted silent movie megastar, Lina Lamont. She is a downright side-splitting villain, setting a new standard for annoying, screechy Brooklyn accents.” – Limelight Magazine
"Erika Heynatz as Lina Lamont makes the infamous role her own – bringing her own flair and nuanced delivery of Lamont’s unique voice to the show; she’s the funniest thing about it.”
Aussie Theatre

Musical theatre has been Erika’s ultimate entertainment challenge, testing her singing and acting chops, her ability to engage and captivate an audience, her preparedness for the unpredictability of playing live, and being healthy, fit and focused enough to deliver A-game performances eight times a week.

SINGIN IN THE RAIN

In this spectacular stage production of MGM’s iconic musical, Erika featured alongside international star Adam Garcia as the vapid, narcissistic and fame-hungry Lina Lamont.

Packed full with the charm, romance, comedy and Tinseltown glamour of the film, the production not only featured the classic songs, it recreated the movie’s choreography, complete with 12,000 litres of water for the unforgettable dance routine made famous by Gene Kelly.

Erika’s performance was widely acclaimed by the press as the highlight of the show. And if there was ever any doubt about her segue into musical theatre it was silenced with this production and yet another Helpmann nomination.

the shrill, vain and mean
Lina, demonstrating her
impeccable comic timing"

ROCKY HORROR

This Australian touring production of cult musical The Rocky Horror Show featured Erika and a stellar cast that included the writer, composer and star of both the original stage production and film, the legendary Richard O’Brien.

Erika played castle maid, Magenta, and The Usherette, opening and closing the show with Science Fiction/Double Feature, putting her own wicked  spin on each of the nostalgic roles.

The show was a huge success, playing to houses packed full to the garter belt with zealous costumed fans, and was nominated for Best Musical at the Helpmann Awards.

“Erika Heynatz has an original take on the Usherette, making her a breathless, wide-eyed movie fan rather than a seedy, all-knowing vamp. Contributing a gleeful energy to the stage, Heynatz gives a glimpse of her comic chops when Magenta finally has some dialogue in the final sequence”.

LEGALLY BLONDE

Erika’s portrayal of exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in the Australian production of Legally Blonde stole the show with a spectacular, acrobatic rope-skipping number alongside her fellow Boston Correctional Facility inmates. Her performance won her BWW’s Best Featured Actress in a Musical as well as a nomination for Best Supporting Actress In A Musical at the Helpmann Awards

"One of the biggest surprises is Erika Heynatz who plays Brooke Wyndham. Heynatz, known more for her modelling/hosting career, proved to be a talented musical performer with abs of steel."
