LOLA'S BAR - SOLD OUT SYDNEY FESTIVAL SHOW!

A new piano bar was launched in Sydney's The Rocks as part of Sydney Fringe this year, and I was lucky enough to be invited to perform there. Hosted by stage goddess Catherine Alcorn and accompanied by Jeremy Brennan on the piano - it was a New York style sing along bar brimming with enthusiastic audiences poised to join in the fun!

Catherine said "I didn't know what to expect, but Lola's turned out to be one of the most heartwarming experiences of my life. In a small but loving sandstone room in a heritage listed building in The Rocks, Lola's welcome and celebrated the most diverse audiences to gather in Sydney in a very long time. We had all walks of life venture through Lola's doors and connect via song. Music is so powerful, and Lola's proved to be exactly what the people want and need right now, to CONNECT through a massive sing-a-long."

I opened the set with crowd favourite, "Science Fiction" from Rocky Horror, followed up with jazz standard "Aint' we got fun", then Kermits ballad of individuality "It's not that easy being green", Pussy cat dolls "Dontcha", Lana Del Reys "Young & Beautiful" and finished on the Heuy Lewis and The News hit " Power of Love"done in the key of blues which got the whole room going. It was such a joy to be a part of, and having been bitten by the bug, I hope to get in on the Sydney Festival action again next year.
